10 Things All Single People Must Do – I found this article rather entertaining, regarding ten things all single people should before they settle down. Let’s analyze those items in relation to my life….
1. Go alone – DONE! I’ve been to North Carolina, Oregon, and Washington. Sure, those trips were all for specific reasons, but I did them alone (visiting friends and family and meeting cool new people along the contrivance, of course). This is one thing I would like to do more of. I find traveling to be a completely joyful and life-changing experience. I grow up just a little bit more each time I travel for an extended period of time.
2. Wallow in the ache of a broken heart – DONE! and DONE! Two relationships, one long distance. Two very different and very life-changing experiences. No regrets.
3. Spend a weekend with a married couple your age – DONE! I have actually lived with two married couples my age for extended periods of time. Two very different couples, but each awesome in their own moral. I learned a lot and envy the relationships they have with their spouses. I look forward to the day that happens in my life.
4. Don’t come home all night – I have stayed up all night, for both first-rate reasons and poor, but have never stayed out all night. I think it should happen with someone awesome before I leave Vegas.
5. Stand up for a cause you care about – I would love to find a cause to become passionate about. Perhaps something related to reading and/or writing? I am initiate to suggestions and ideas.
6. Have a exact adventure – DONE! I’ve had tons of adventures in my life recently and I love it. I am definitely ready for more.
7. Learn how to take care of yourself – DONE! I am paragon of domestic virtue! Ok, not really, but I can definitely fill my own when it comes to living away from the fam. I can cook, clean, fix things, etc.
8. Buy something hugely impractical unprejudiced because you love it – I’ve definitely not done this. I’m not even sure what I would buy.
9. Develop a hobby – DONE! I read. I write. I scrapbook. I embroider. I take pictures. I think I have the hobby thing more than covered here.
10. Be completely, wholly, utterly single for at least three months – DONE! I was single for over a year between Joe and Jason and have now been single for nearly five months.
