Always remember that you are unique-just like everyone else. ~ Unknown

The first thing a major dating location will ask you is to advance up with a username. The site might offer to give you one but it will be something impersonal and off the wall. Examples of usernames the site will give you are “rn304502″ or “s3945ljo23″. Never incorporate your first and last name into the username. You want to remain anonymous for privacy reasons until you feel comfortable to disclose personal information to your choice of a potential date. The username will be the first thing someone reads when he or she views your profile so thoughtfully ponder on this step. Your username should reflect something about you.

I have used names that reflect my hobbies or work such as linedancenurse and nchappynurse. Some usernames that caught my eye are “retiredGIJoe” and “cartechnicianforu” (what woman wouldn’t benefit from being friends with a car technician? ). Mediate about what you esteem to do or what makes you happy. Catchy usernames such as “greeneyedskibunny”, “letsgosailin”, “happyoutdoors”, “skaterbabe”, “prettyinpink” are other examples.

Usernames such as “divorce2002″ or “lostsoul” make one seem focused on their past and or lonely. Avoid sexual innuendoes such as “hotbabe22″ or “hankypanky0202″ unless of course you really do want to attract sexual playmates. I read one recently entitled “393bigpee3″. What on earth was he thinking? Some more for the list: “69easylvr” and “39horndog”.

Take some time coming up with a username that you’re happy with, then let a friend read it and if they say, “oh, that’s you!” then go with it! If later you choose you don’t like it you can always change it.
